Florida is the largest swing state with a close governor’s race, and it is important for down ballot races and future redistricting. The Florida senate race between Democratic Incumbent Bill Nelson and current Governor Rick Scott is also very close and could be influenced by who turns out for the governor’s race.
Six Republican held US House seats are in contention in Florida, according to Cook Political Report. District CD-27 is rated as lean Democrat, and districts CD-15, CD-18, and CD-26 are lean Republican. Furthermore, Florida districts CD-6 and CD- 25 are rated as likely Republican.
